A distinguished professor at Cebu Normal University’s College of Nursing, where he has been an educator and clinical instructor since 2006. He holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Nursing from Silliman University and a Doctor of Science in Nursing major in Gerontological Nursing from Cebu Normal University. His academic background also includes a Master in Nursing major in Maternal and Child Nursing from Cebu Normal University.

A prolific researcher, Dr. Alforque has developed nursing theories, including the Theory of Creative Aging and the Emergent Theory of Encountering Nursing in a Nurse-Nursed Dyadic Relationship (ThENNDyR). His research has been published in SCOPUS and Clarivate-indexed journals, contributing significantly to gerontology and nursing education. He has presented in numerous international and national conferences and has received recognition for his pioneering work in nursing research.

Dr. Alforque is an active member of the Philippine Nurses Association, the Maternal and Child Nurses Association of the Philippines, the Gerontology Nurses Association of the Philippines, and the Philippine National Research Society. His expertise in qualitative research and grounded theory has made him a sought-after speaker and panelist in nursing and health science research.
